“Here I stand, I can do no other. God help me. Amen.”

Today is the anniversary of Luther’s great declaration at the Diet of Worms on April 18, 1521. He refused to give up on the truth he had found in the Bible. It put his life in danger, too. What a fitting follow-up to our considerations of holy week. The gospel changes us, and gives us courage in life, even to face death.
